Review of Ramy Ayach's "Ghramay" Album

Ramy Ayach رامي عياش refuses to be a B list star...since he first emerged to the scenes as a little boy in the early 90s.

It's 2010, and the latest Ramy Ayach album is upon us, with 9 tracks where each and everyone offers a side of Ramy Ayach that keeps us guessing what will we see from him next. We already know and absolutely love two songs on the album El Nas El Ray'ah with legendary Egyptian singer Ahmed Adawiya came out in 2009 and captivated everyone and Afrah Feeky, the song released few weeks ago with music video that had every other Arab star racing to work with its director.

01. Efrah Fiki, awesome music meets good lyrics sweet love song that promises and delivers amazing emotions of excitement.
02. Sar Andy El Amar [Hayate], Jazz and lounge music do not get a lot of songs in Arabic, until Ramy delivered this love song, slow dance and subtle style and a song that will appeal to males and females a like, the older ones will enjoy its mellow notes and perfect musical arrangement that is easy on the air.
03. Habibi Habibi Feat. Belly in the age of the internet and the global consumption of music, simple lyrics rule and party music wins the fans. I am sure Arabs who do not speak Arabic will enjoy this song as it's simple, easy and upbeat...they can sing along. Adding the voices of Belly gives the song a hip factor.
04. Enty Ze'elty, the music is the best part of this song, the lyrics are creative, the style is new to Ramy, but he delivers it well. Whoever wrote the music for this song will be around for a bit. We enjoyed the fusion of the old school musical instruments with the newer ones in a perfect marriage.
05. Maghroumi [Shalabiya] a tribute to Fayroz, good performance, upbeat mix. Timely
06. Tal El Sahar mature mellow song offers warmth, bitter-sweet in a grown up melody.
07. Habibet Alby, I feel we saw this song before, yet Ramy delivers a fresh dose of love to his loved one served in a intimate party setting surrounded by friends. His love confession in this song allows him to show his true voice quality as he changes notes from fast paced to slower one.
08. Elha' Ma'adak, the darkest song on the album, Ramy showcases his wise side and "I've learned my lesson" and moving on type of break up songs. It's always interesting to see a bitter melody that is delicate and drives the message home.
09. El Nas El Ray'ah Feat. Ahmed Adawiya, we love this song and the duo make a fireworks performance in wise lyrics about life and living stress free, the two singers from two different ears make the song credible and the music serves it well.

So there you go whatever music style you like, whatever language you are into, Ramy is reaching out to you with his Ghramay album. Just in time for the new year and the holiday season, Ramy and his team gives you something to cheer about.
